Pardon the mega back dated post~ but I can't miss out a post on Morton's, can I?
Met B for some burger promo at Morton's, apparently they were having burgers for $17!! ok I know I should control my excitement (especially since its like 3 months back). Honestly, I've always had the impression that Morton's is super atas so when I found out it was $17 I was like hella ya! let's go.
So.. did the great Morton's Burger live up to its expectation it held so dearly in my heart..I guess the answer is yes. Well, the "i guess" is due to the fact that the burger was a little over done. That aside, the patty was really juicy and succulent. I like how minimally seasoned the beef was; patties which exude that rich, melt-in-your-mouth beefy taste is hard to find and Morton's totally nailed it. Mine came with mushrooms, caramelized onions, tomatoes and lettuce. I supposed the condiments were really basic as the whole idea was to let the meat shine. Bun wise, it was decently toasted, though the base bun was really soggy. Chips were good too! Love the thickly cut fries and how it stayed crispy throughout my meal.

Had their Legendary Hot Chocolate Cake and it can be summed up in one word: EXORBITANT. I honestly didn't get $30++ satisfaction from this melty goodness. Yes, it was flowy, yes they had Haagen Daz ice cream on the side but that's it! Honestly, Mezza's praline rendition was way way better. Granted it ain't that cheap, it was at least worth the $16 and calories. Need a cheaper fix? head to Saizeraya. YES! they do servce lava cake there. Better still, make it at home! it's really easy. You do need alittle experimenting when it comes to the baking time but once you've nailed it you practically can have it as and when you want! Do try it at home!

Verdict:
Food: Burger patty were awesome! Price wise, totally worth it if it's going for $17. Dessert was bleah, skip it unless you've struck jackpot.
Service: Decent. Food took really really long to come. Especially the LEGENDARY chocolate cake.
Ambience: We were seated at the bar area and was really romantically cosy. A little daunting if you're just out with a friend though.
