Nothing's too Trivia for Tuesday Trivia!
I was invited by J to join her and some ex colleagues for Tuesday Trivea at Boomerang Bistro & Bar at Boat Quay. Frankly, I didn't know such an event existed, especially on a Tuesday?!
For those who have no clue: Tuesday Trivia (to put it really simply) is an event whereby you eat/ drink while answering questions. There will be a host who ask a list of questions (grouped according to themes) and the winning team gets to dine/ eat for free (or some other perks). The questions asked were terribly difficult. I think I only knew the answer of 3 questions out of a 100! just to give you an idea of what kinda questions were asked (these are one of the easier questions, mind you):
"What comes after Bronze Age"
"How many housing estates (excluding utilities a& railway stations) are there in a typical Monopoly game"
"What is the name of the 3rd Chipmunk in Alvin & the chipmunk, besides Theodore and Alvin?"
"What is the name of Tin Tin's Dog?"
There are a couple of places offering such an event and I think that's a real good idea! Great tactic to boost dining crowd during weekday nights! Check out this list of places which offer such fun:

What's fun without food right!? Since Boomerang Cafe is a Auzzie hideout, I thought I should try their Kangaroo Burger or at least something more Auzzie. I was famished and was really very happy with the portion size lol. Gluttony aside, the burger was more of a sandwich. I like how crisp the sandwich was however it was slightly too charred at certain areas. The kangaroo meat tasted much like beef and had chunks of fat in there. I thought the overall burger was decent, wouldn't quite order it again though as it was kinda blend. The star of the dish were the wedges which was really crispy and not oily at all. For those who know me well enough, I dislike fried food. However, that particular night, I found myself finishing almost the entire plate of wedges. It's either the wedges is damn good or I was possessed, you choose.
Kangaroo Burger @ $25 |
N ordered the chicken schnitzel burger which looked really good as well. I'm a sucker for hearty huge food and I guess Boomerang nails the portion aspect:
Chicken Schnitzel Burger @ $22 |
Verdict:
- Great for after work chilling, bring along an extremely intelligent friend on Tuesdays though
- Average Food in huge hearty portion
- Decent Service
