Had my actual Birthday with my the 2 Musketeers as Mum & Dad were away. They kinda abandoned me but issued an imperial edict summoning the siblings to celebrate with me, I guess they still do care :) nah kidding, I'm loved #orsoithink
I kinda forgot how many times I was at La Nonna but its the kinda place you'll never get tired of. Good food, decent service, affordable price, what's not to like. Oh, I especially love their thin crust pizza!! Check out my 1st review.. oops apparently I only did 1 post on La Nonna lol damn I'm lazy.
Top choice for pizza, its a tie between Nera and Salmone Pizza! Most people would go for their signature La Nonna Pizza but I aint a fan of truffle oil. If you are, then you'll definitely like their signature pizza as its doused with truffle oil and topped with a sunny side up.
Don't worry too much about the squid ink taste, it is really subtle. In fact, I think Squid Ink doesn't really have a distinctive taste does it? I should seriously get some pure squid ink to try, just to know how it actually taste like. Topped with tons of seafood and cherry tomatoes, this is the real deal guys :)

In case, you're not a squid ink fan. You can go for my second choice (might be 1st choice, depending on the mood) the salmon pizza. It's basically the same thin crust pizza with mascarpone cheese, capers, smoked salmon and topped with rucola salad. Rucola salad is basically rocket salad and I personally really like the combination of both rucola salad and smoked salmon. I think the bitterness of the rocket salad helps cut through the saltiness of the salmon. My only problem with this pizza is that it gets really salty after awhile. 3 slices of it and I will start feeling like I've eaten a can of salted fish.

Jie ordered her favourite, their Linguine. Their Linguine comes tossed with crab meat and in a tomato cream sauce with basil. Cooked till al dente, the linguine is not too rich and packed with tons of flavour. I don't quite like tomato sauce with cream but if you do, do give this a go. The crab meat is succulent and sweet, a great addition to the entire pasta dish.

Jie got me a baked alaska cake and told the kitchen to store it in the fridge. Guess what La Nonna did? they plated it and decorated the entire thing with sauce, fruits and a candle. Now thats what I call service! although they took kinda long to serve the baked alaska, its a really sweet gesture on their end.
La Nonna has become one of our go to Italian restaurant and its not that difficult to explain why. Good food, affordable prices (w palate card) and above average service. I hope their standard of food and service remains unchanged though.
