My ex-colleagues are such a dear, they threw me a birthday dinner at Ju Shin Jung (the pasir pajang outlet).
Thankfully, we were there early Ju Shin Jung as the crowd started streaming in at around 7+. As our group consisted of 7 people, we were seated at the area with the Korean style seating, which was pretty interesting.
I think most reviews of Ju Shin Jung would mention their insane number of Banchan; they were right! Thankfully our table could accommodate all the Banchan as I wasn't willing to give up any.
I don't think you an make out the Banchan from the small pic; their banchan included spicy veggies, seaweed, tofu, Salad with dressing, pumpkin soup, sweet & sour soup, pickle radish, potato salad, beansprout, anchovies, kimchi and seasoned cuttlefish (which was my favourite! i posliehd 5 bowls of it!) Honestly, despite the variety, I would still rank Nam Moon's Banchan as No.1. Ok la, maybe No.1in Singapore?

I do not fancy animal fat and hence I skipped the pork belly but I heard it was good.
We ordered a kim chi pancake which wasn't as crispy as Togi's. I would very much prefer a thinner more crispy pancake. Ju Shin Jung's version was slightly thicker which revealed a much more kueh-y texture. Nonetheless, the flavour was there.

Chicken Teokbokki was awesome! It ain't your traditional Teokbbokki as it had mozzarella cheese salthered all our the spicy chicken and rice cakes. I love the seasoning of the chicken!! It was spicy and delicious. Together..the cheese, chicken and rice cakes tasted like heaven in my mouth.
We also ordered beef short ribs which came with straw mushrooms. The beef ribs were excellent! Really well seasoned and very tender.
All in all, Ju Shin Jung is definitely a place I would return to. Food wasn't cheap though, total bill came up to 200+.
My ex colleague's son had his birthday close to mine and we shared a chocoalte cake from Pine's garden. Honestly, not a great fan of Pine's garden as their cakes consist of loads of buttercream. Their chocolate cake wasn't too bad as it had a layer of ganache on top of buttercream. However, it won't be my go to cake for sure.
