Life's Sweet

I think I have a serious problem. I have serious cravings for sweet stuff, like  can just survivie on sugar... that and coffee :D

Oh ya, meet my tooth..

Anyways, just to share some awesome possum desserts/ some far form awesome I had over the past few months, which I've failed to share.

I know beancurd jelly/ taiwan dessert has been pretty passé (that's cos I've been really lag in my post) but I think Beans Talk's rendition is value for money and really tasty. At just $2 you can a good mix of Beancurd Jelly (those lao ban kind), Black jelly, Taro Balls, Green beans, Red beans and a handful of peanuts. The bean curd jelly is really smooth and almost melts in your mouth, taro balls are Q enough, oh and best part is.. you can adjust your sugar level!

Ritter sport is by far the best "control your figure" chocolate. Its smaller than a regular 250g bar chocolate and kinda makes you feel bad even though you've consumed just a little- its all about relativity. Best flavour award would have to go to the biscuit one (3rd from outter most right column). runner up would be the Espresso Chocolate. Followed by Knusperflakes (cornflakes and chocolate). Their extra fine dark chocolate is definitely one of my flavourites as well. Other flavours which I quite like are the chocolate mousse, chocolate cookie and Hazelnut ones.

Crazy collection of Ritter Sport from Shuaxy and Dad

Another Dessert worth blogging is Changi village Hong Cha Jelly. If you're wondering how these red ruby look alike jelly taste, it  pretty much tastes like peach tea flavoured jelly. The dash of evaporated milk and a handful of Long Yan makes this dessert extraordinary.

This is my first ice cream from the Ice Cream Chef. I thought the flavours weren't pretty normal, nothing crazily cool. Despite not wowing us with the flavours, I really liked the texture of the ice cream, its kidna sticky and gooey which rocks.

Chocolate Stout Ice cream on waffles, from Salted Caramel. I think its an established fact that anything with chocolate definitely floats my boat (except white chocolate, which I have no idea why its considered a chocolate in the first place). The waffles are fluffy but not as crispy as the ones I had at Coastal Settlement.

Ice Cream from Daily Scoops with Inferno. Flavours which stood out- Avacado and Durian!

Mao Shan Wang Moon cake from Home's Favourite. I thought the charcoal skin tasted really normal, nothing mind blowing. Nonetheless, this mooncake makes a majestic gift! just look at the colour contrast.

Tahini Cake from Cedele. Nice combination of cream cheese and black sesame, alittle too jelak after awhile albeit its a really fluffy and moist cake!

Yoguru is my favourite Froyo joint! Their Froyo is creamy, low fat and not as icy as Yammi's. I like how its quite tart as well and not overly sweet (I usually get the original flavour which is the tarter one)

Ji De Chi is one of top go to places for Chinese desserts. Their mango puree is pretty good but alittle too sweet for my liking.

If I were you I would whack their durian flavoured dessert. You wont be disappointed with any of their durian dessert but if I were you I would totally go for their durian ice shavings. They have one of the best combi of condiments/ jelly.

Their shaved ice are all pretty good though so if durian isn't your thing you can try the others. Oh one word of caution though, the previous time when I had their black sesame shaved ice, it was kinda rancid and their service staffs were super rude (Liang Seah Street outlet). Check out their Jurong point outlet, the staffs there are better.

Honeymoon dessert has joined the "Y gen chinese dessert" clan as well. In my opinion, Ji De Chi is the best, albeit there were some which shone at Honeymoon.

Black Glutinous rice with Vanilla Ice Cream

I've tried their black sesame paste and it wasn't that good- way to starchy/curdy. Their Walnut paste, on the other hand, was pretty good. I love the combination of the nutty paste with the sweet and smooth beancurd (like Lao ban's).

I'm not too sure whether Macs still has this but their Matcha Mcflurry is quite kick ass for Macs standard. Although I would love for the Matcha to be purely just Matcha powder (their powder was mixed with sugar which was a tad too sweet for me), the combination of both the matcha, oreo cookies and soft serve vanilla ice cream was spot on.

Matchs Mc Flurry

Give their durian pancake a miss though; skin was really thick and their durian paste had a funny aftertaste ;/

Min Jiang Kueh is by far my favourite kueh in the world. My go to stall, while still working in the west, was at Ayer Rajar Food Center. However, since switching job, Toa Payoh Lor 8 food center (granny's pancake) has been satisfying my cravings.

Peanut Min Jiang Kueh @ $0.70

If you're at Brunetti, dont forget to try their Gelato- their chocolate flavour is really good. Oh! and it pays to be a chick; look at the gigormous serving we had :D

Matcha float at Maccha House which was so so. I preferred the one I had at Nana's Green Tea.

Funny tasting cake at SICC; it tasted weird... so weird I even forgot its name.

And to end things off... DO NOT.. i repeat.. DO NOT get Wendy's Chendol Softee. Its so bad, I chunk the entire thing after 1 mouth full.  I'm not too sure whether its the outlet @ Suntec, but the chocolate ice soft serve ice cream was way too icy and watery. The black jelly tasted normal (thank God) but the chendol was just soooo freaking gross. It was solid, hard, cold, flavourless and jsut way inedible.

Wendy's Chendol Ice Cream @$2
