It was a late thursday and we were looking for some place to chill after some Burrito affair at Muchachos.
The guys didn't wanna dine at cake spade and so we ended up at Re-store. The cafe looked really indie and quaint form the outside but perception kinda changed as we sat down and made ourselves comfortable. The cafe is essentially a cafe cum furniture shop so don't be surprised to see hanging chairs and tons of table tops; I understand its essential to display the furniture but I found the cafe way to cluttered.
Their menu consisted of simple food, a handful of desserts, assorted waffles and coffee.
It was already 8 plus and I wasn't gonna kill myself with any injection of caffeine. I chose the chocolate tart to share and the guys settled for the waffles and berries.
Th chocolate tart was by far the worse chocolate tart I've tried. First up, it was really puny for the price we paid. Affordability aside, the ganache was kinda clumpy and the tart shell was way to soggy. In my humble but really honest opinion, I think Han's chocolate tart would whoop their asses.
I blame H for this. He claimed Re-store has really good waffles. On the contrary, the waffles was dense, neither crispy nor fluffy and really a huge disappointment.
I don't think Re-store is a place for food. Ambience wise, I didn't quite like the claustrophobic feel. Nonetheless, the service staff was friendly (he was doing a one man show that night) and the place had a whiff of buttery waffles- beware though, what you smell might not be what you get.
