Along Bukit Timah Road

We're in the third month of 2014 and I've been busy busy busy- a good kinda busy though. Anyway, if you've been an attentive follower, you'll know that I'm not very up to date with my posts. Nevertheless, I'm glad Im not! As I'm seeking comfort, ogling at food pics and posting about them; especially since I do not have much time to cafe hop these days.

So R & I met for lunch over the weekends. It's not his first time at Little Diner but he suggested it anyway. I made reservation as I hate to queue and guess what I was greeted with?

Small touches like this do make a difference
It was stated on the menu that they were using coffee beans from Toby's Estate, which I've tried and quite liked. Both R & I ordered the Flat White.

I kinda had a huge breakfast and wanted something small so both of us shared a Mac & cheese. Little Diner's Mac & Cheese was really good: piping hot, melty cheese, al dente Macaroni and crunchy top! There's really nothing I wanted more than to dig right into the casserole- which is a bad bad idea as it was REALLY really hot.

As we were yapping away, I glanced across the other table's burgers and woah! they looked really good! I would definitely return to Little Diner for their burgers and pancakes. Oh ya, and their service... spectacular!

We went to The Living Cafe, just a few doors down, for some raw desserts. The Living Cafe is surprisingly huge and was far from packed. We went over to the counter to pick our desserts; R picked a macaron while I chose a Chocolate Tart and Lemon Cranberry Tart. All their desserts were kinda puny for $7-$8 but I guess the ingredients used cost more?

The first bite of everything was really beyond words (in a bad way) albeit, quite frankly, the taste grows on you. The more I dig into the chocolate tart, the more I found myself loving every detail of it. I liked that bitter-sweet-raw-nutty,-coconuty taste see.. I told you the taste is beyond words.  The Lemon Tart tasted the most normal out of the lot, albeit it did have alittle raw nut taste to it. Forget the macaron, it was puny and kinda a waste of money. In short, I might return if I feel rich and yearn for something healthy. However, for now, its any other cafe.> the living cafe.
