Lola Cafe |
I've always wanted to try Lola as its opened by a fellow SMU school mate, I was glad Hans didn't have any violent objections to my suggestion. Lola is located diagonally across Kovan MRT, step out Kovan MRT and walk towards the Domino's (along the road).
Honestly, I was really surprised at how packed Lola was!! We managed to get a seat as the couple occupying a 4 seater table was willing to share.
Hans and myself ordered an ice mocha which was ok... not mind blowing-ly good. I think the best mocha I've tasted is at Rider's cafe.

Hans had the Lola's Full Monty Breakfast which comprises of a scrambled egg, sausage, bacon, ham, salad and toast. I think Hans wasn't quite blown away by it either. However, he did mention the scramble eggs were really good.

I had the Avocado Eggs Benedict which was DELICIOUS! I loved the thick and luscious hollandaise sauce which enveloped the entire toast. The toast was good- crisp enough. Poached eggs were executed perfectly. I would have loved for smoked salmon but the Ham did complement the creamy avocado. I was really really happy with my choice! :) I would say Lola's rendition could put up a good fight with Group Therapy's.

They didn't really offer much cake choices for dessert; there were tarts, tiramisu and panna cotta selection. The tarts look really puny for $5+ hence we went for the more "hua" ones.
The Nutella Tart was really disappointing. I'm not too sure what an ideal Nutella Tart is suppose to taste but it had the same gooey texture as Everything with Fries's, tasted pretty much like uncooked chocolate cookie dough.

I'm not really a Panna Cotta Fan but I was glad Hans picked this. According to him, this Panna Cotta isn't as good as Jamie's restaurant's, meaning its not as traditional. I didn't quite care about tradition as I really loved the texture of Lola's Panna Cotta. It's really creamy and not overly gelatinized. It wasn't too sweet and those walnut crumbles are fantabulous! crunchy, sweet and nutty all in one bite!

Service was kinda slow but they had cute female crew which is a plus points guys! I would definitely return to Lola's for their eggs benedict! Best part, no GST :D..............yet......
