Had an archers gathering with Adriel and Sam, somehow Buona Vista seemed like the most compromising location to meet. I suggested trying out The Lawn which is located at Biopolis, a 10 minute walk from Buona Vista MRT (that's if you do not get lost).
The Lawn is a nice cosy setting which serves huge portion of salad cum grill. I love their concept albeit not a new one. Basically you get to choose a grill and rice + side salad for $9.90 or a grill + 5 toppings + 1 dressing for $9.90. Only problem is... you smell like whatever they are grilling; they should really consider investing in some kick ass exhaust piping system.
I had the Mojo Cheeken Grill with Olives, Tomatoes, Cashew Nuts, Beet roots and more olives cos there wasn't much option, sadly. I picked the perky sesame ginger which was reviewed as one of the better sauces but it made my salad really oily and garlicky tasting which I didn't quite care for.

Adriel had the Butter Dory which was really good too. I thought the Dory was slightly on the salty side but it paired really well with the lettuce and the potatoes. Adriel had the honey ball sauce which resulted in a really great dory salad combo.

Sam had the Chicken with Herb Infusion which wasn't really herby. Nonetheless, it was tender and juicy, just like my Mojo Cheeken. Sam picked the premium dressing: Manly Mango and had to add $1 for it. I thought the sauce was ok, not worth that extra $1 though.

As a whole, The Lawn is really a great place to have a hearty healthy meal. However, I suggest going to The Lawn for lunch as most of the toppings ran out by dinner. Besides the lack of interesting toppings, I thought the grills were pretty good and is definitely worth a second trip.
The Lawn does sell some cakes however they didn't look too appealing and so we headed back to Rochester Park for Cakes at Pies & Coffee (I know it sounds misleading but they do have cakes in Pies & Coffee).

We were deciding between their Double Chocolate Cake and Carrot Cake; both were priced at $9.80. We chose Carrot Cake in the end as it looked way too good. On hind sight, I should have listen to the chocoholic in me, as the carrot cake was such a huge disappointment.First of all, the cream cheese "frosting" was more of an icing which I absolutely hate. And as if icing wasn't diabetic enough, they had to sprinkle powder sugar onto the cake. Furthermore, the cake was dry and was just overall diabetic-ally sweet. I think the service level of the staffs were pretty dissatisfying too. The staff at the counter was kinda rude and nonchalant to our requests.
Honestly, I had quite high hopes for Pies & Coffee. Unfortunately, I doubt I will be returning to Pie & Coffee anytime soon.
