Vanilla Bar and Cafe

Dined at Vanilla Bar and Cafe with Tata a while back.

I ordered the Baked and Arrabiata with Eggs & Parmesan. I thought this dish was pretty decent, definitely not as good as Toby's Moroccan Eggs or Wild Honey's Tunisian but it's sweet and salty combination kinda blends pretty nicely with the eggs. I didn't quite care for their buns, multigrain buns or nice thick ciabatta would have done a better job at soaking up this saucy dish.

Tata had the Pasta which I felt tasted ok, she said it became kinda jelat after a while. We bought the groupon deal and was entitled to starters and soup. My carrot soup was pretty good, sweet and yummy. Tata's salad looked so-so. This post was way dated back, I can't really remember what were the starters =X 

I did however remember their dessert. The reason I remembered the dessert is not because its good. On the contrary, I found the dessert really bad. I mean the idea is pretty and intelligent nonetheless it must taste good too. Those who said these flowerpots tasted like Oreo Mcflurry were definitely being real nice... In my humble opinion, these floiwer pots were far from Oreo Mcflurry. These were thick and gross and really undesirably terrible. It's not quite a pudding nor a cream custard nor an ice cream, I don't really know how to describe it. I was desperately fishing out those tiny oreo bits just so I could end my meal on a sweet note.

In short, the Vanilla Bar and Cafe is a pretty chill and nice place to hang out but I think food wise, we would have gotten a better fare, elsewhere.
