Not That Mad For Mad Jack

Met up with Inferno peeps at Serangoon Nex and we settled for Mad Jack as Din Tai Fung and others were way packed. I can't lie I wasn't kinda excited that they picked Mad Jack as I've always wanted to dine there. 

I guess my impression of Mad Jack was kinda skewed towards Aston's twin or something and I guess I'm sorta right; except the slightly higher price point. Anyways, I ordered a Blue Mountain Beef Burger as I was starving. 

My burger took the longest time to arrive (I swear it's not cos I'm hungry) and it didn't quite look like the picture. I'm pretty sure it is the tallest burger I've seen but it sure is kinda small than tall. Size and feeling cheated aside, I thought the burger patties were kinda fatty and had way too much fillers; so much so you can't exactly taste the beef. I would swap these for Swensen's Mega Burger anytime...

Extreme Blue Mountain Beef Burger @ $15.90

Benny wanted the Unagi Linguine but they ran out of Unagi and so he had salmon instead. I had abit of the salmon and it is pretty not bad. Though I still feel that $14.90 is kinda pricey.

Salmon Linguine in Cream Sauce @ $14.90

Ade had the Chicken chop which look pretty good, at least slightly bigger than Aston's. Don't judge, I just like my food big.

Grilled Chicken in BBQ Sauce @ $8.90

Soft Shell Crab Linguine was Sophie's choice and I reckon it tasted just like Benny's. I must say, $16.90 is really ex for that small piece of crab

I knew I had to have the Mad and Rich Chocolate cake, the moment I saw it. Well.. it was decent but not the best I've eaten. It's slightly dry though not as dry as Arbite's.

The Blueberry Cheese Cake was pretty decent though, rich and creamy albeit it could do with a little more cheese.

In a nutshell, I would rather dine at Swensen's as the price point is kinda similar. Desserts at Mad Jack are relatively cheaper though and I wouldn't mind heading down just for a slice of cake :)
