Let me tell you why home bakers are mostly fat those skinny ones have good genetics...
1) Nothing beats personal trial: In order to ensure we dont get embarrassed, we always taste at least one of it (2 in its really tasty).
2) Flavours do develop & changes occur: Day 2's muffins may be wetter than Day's 1, Day 2's cheesecake may be tastier than Day 1's etc. Hence, tasting the day after is probably essential
3) Distraction: More often than not, we tend to pinch and snack on those remaining ingredients or extras
4) Competition: To gauge how different our baked goods are from the outside world, we tend to purchase and eat more baked goods when we dine out.
Disclaimer: ok fine, its not 'we' its just 'me' but using 'we' makes me feel less guilty.
So anyways I thought I needed to taste what outside world's muffins taste like and though I was stuffed, I succumbed to eating those delicious looking, nicely poofed muffins at SICC.
Chocolate muffin @ $1.70 |
I thought the muffins were really wallet friendly! A similar muffin at Breadtalk could cost you 2 to 3 bucks; then again club foods are usually cheaper.
As you can see, these muffins appearance alone beats mine hands down. Both muffins were fluffy yet moist, something which mine is lacking. Amazingly, these were not too sweet despite being packed with loads of blueberries and chocolate chips. I thought the chocolate flavour was kinda lacking, nonetheless it still taste a million times better than mine :( sobs.
Chocolate & Blueberry muffin- lookin good ~ |
Jie also brought home a bunch of dessert the other night and it was gone that very night! Naive me thought I could at least have cakes for breakfast to chase those Monday Blues away.
