NOM NOM @ Nam Nam Noodle Bar

Met Tata for dinner the previous week and I knew exactly where we should dine. As Tata is a huge fan of Vietnamese food, I thought we should give the newly opened Nam Nam Noodle Bar a go. Located at both Raffles Place Shopping Centre and Wheelock Place, Nam Nam is Vietnamese eatery owned by the Les Amis Group.

Tata ordered the Beef Pho, while I had a Chicken Banh Mi. I had a spoonful of Tata's beef broth and I thought it was kinda bland. Yes, it's always a good thing to be all natural and MSG-free but definitely not at the expense of taste. Tata also commented that the beef was kinda tough as well, oh what a let down from Les Amis.

Thankfully, my Banh Mi didn't disappoint. I had the Chicken Bahn Mi which comprised of chicken breast, chicken liver pate and veggies. At $5.90, I thought the Bahn Mi were pretty good. The crispy white loafs were huge and the fillings were sufficient, I wished they would remove the chicken skin though.

We moved on with desserts @ Cedele; I had my favourite Carrot Cake while Tata had her favourite Blueberry Crumble. Is it me or did Cedele's Carrot Cake shrink? I also found the cake kinda dry and not as fantastic as what I envisioned it to be.

Cedele's Carrot Cake @ $6.50

Tata loved her Blueberry Crumble but I thought it tasted more like cinnamon than Blueberry. Cedele was pretty stingy with the blueberries and I found the crumble a little on the dry side.

In short, Nam Nam warrants second visit; do give their Banh Mi a go! Cedele disappointed me that night but I chose to believe it was the matter of inconsistency of outlets rather than an overall decrease in standard. Nonetheless, I had a blast with Tata and I'm looking forward to our next date soon!
