I blame the cold weather for my constant cravings for comforting and heart-warming Chinese food. I have never been a fan of Chinese food cos..
1. Who eats Chinese food outside when you have an awesome Mum who cooks awesome Chinese food.
2. Who eats Chinese food outside (period)
So anyway I met up with my long lost FTB friend Adeline at Din Tai Fung. I do have my usuals at Din Tai Fung but we were feeling adventurous that day. We started the meal with the Honey Braised Beancurd which tasted exactly like its description- Braised Taupok with Honey. There were a few black fungus and mushrooms here and there, adding to the flavour.
Honey Braised Beancurd @ $4.80 |
We ordered a few dumplings and paus to share. First up were the vegetable dumplings which was pretty average. I was glad they gave us some vinger and ginger to dip as the dumplings were kinda bland on its own.
Vegetable Dumplings @ $7.80 |
Chilli Crab with Pork @ $ 4.30 |
Yam Dumplings are still the best! This is one of my must haves. The not so sweet yam filling is delectable; my only qualms would be its slightly thick skin when cooled.
Yam Dumplings @ $6.30 |
Glutinous Rice with Mashed Red Beans @ $3.80 |
Had Steamed Egg with Ginger at Mei Shi Ke... good dessert + good company= delightful night!
