Met Tata for some Group or should I said Couple Therapy one sunday noon. I was really surprised Tata agreed to meet for Brunch at Group Therapy as I reckoned it would be too far for her. Apparently, she's become quite a foodie as well, travelling for brunches with her dearest bf from Privé to Spruce, damn it's really time for me to get a bf too.
I've always (and I mean ALWAYS) wanted to try Group Therapy but my only convenient brunch buddy aka Jie refuse to travel to Tanjong Pagar for brunch and so this has been the place to suggest going whenever I jio or being jio-ed by friends. Group Therapy is located upstairs, above the row of quaint shophouses along Duxton Road. If you're like me, an unfortunate non driving soul, take a train to Tanjong Pagar and head to the exit which takes you to Orchid Hotel. From there, walk towards orchid hotel, all the way down till you see 2D1N Soju Bang. Go behind 2D1N and turn left, walking all the way down till you see the sign "Group Therapy Upstairs". Climb up the creaky flight of stairs and you'll be greeted with a cosy cafe ambience.
Both Tata and I ordered the Poached Eggs and Hotcakes to share. The Poached Eggs which consist of a thick toast, smoked salmon, gruyere and of course nicely poached eggs covered in thick luscious Hollandaise sauce. I havent had much Eggs Benny but this is by far the best Hollandaise sauce I've ever tasted. I love how it's thick but not cloy and had a nice fresh tanginess to it. The toast was thick and well toasted, which definitely helped liven up the entire dish. Just in case you're wondering whether this small slice of toast would fill you up, HELL YA IT DOES! I might not have the biggest stomach in the world but I do eat quite a huge portion and I was feeling very satiated after tucking into this toast.

- OOS Black Velvet Cake @ Habitat Coffee
- OOS Black Squid Bun @ Tiong Bahru Bakery
- OOS Chocolate Molten Cake @ Saizeriya Toa Payoh (1st visit)
- OOS Cupcakes from Marmalade Toast
- OOS Apple Cake from Marmalade Pantry
and now OOS Carrot Cake from Group Therapy Cafe- which is my sole reason for patronizing. This, my friends, is the epitome of sianz-ness. So anyway I reckon I would be heading back to Group Therapy Cafe for a slice of their famous carrot cake and probs some nice poached eggs covered in Hollandaise :)
