Dining at USS might be pretty challenging as there aren't many reviews on the eateries located in USS itself (more so for ppl, like me, who base their decision on others' feedbacks) Hence, I decided to share my dining experience @ KT's Grill. Val had USS vouchers and chose to spend his at KT's Grill.
KT's Grill is located at the New York themed area. Resembling the atypical 1940s New York diners, KT's Grill boast a cosy yet elegant ambience.
KT's Grill was surprisingly quiet; I thought it could be because it was a Wednesday noon. It is not until I asked the waiter did I discover they just opened their restaurant to the public; just after the president has left. Yes, our president...lol who would have thought uh
So with high expectations, I ordered a Shepherd's Pie while Val settled for the Pasta. We also called the sautéed mushrooms to share. Complimentary bread was served (best practice ever) and we pigged out as we were starving from all those rides.
Our dishes came pretty quickly, as we were about the only ones in the restaurant, I thought the sautéed mushrooms were kinda puny, nonetheless it had that familiar comforting earthy taste.
My Shepherd's Pie also came in a fun size portion but it was surprisingly satiating. Under that thick blanket of mozzarella cheese, lies chunks of fatty beef and a layer of smooth mash potato. I found this dish way to oily for my liking but tasty nonetheless.
Val's pasta looked much healthier and sorta made me feel really bad. He didn't say much about his pasta so I reckon it was ok?
We ordered a banana tart for dessert and it was pretty good, in fact this was the star of the meal. The banana tart came with a scoop of peanut butter ice cream, surrounded with chunks of crumbles. Although the custard was a tad too sweet, it blended really well with the crunchy buttery tart. The peanut butter ice cream was pretty good as well, creamy smooth and decadent.
If I didn't remember wrongly, the total bill came up to 90+, which is incredibly expensive for the food served. KT's Grill is definitely a ambience over food choice but hey! all other USS eateries are expensive anyways.
