Remember how I was whining about the TCC's birthday treat card? Well, they were nice enough to issue me one, for the month of June, as I complained to the waiter. I guess second time's the charm, we enjoyed our dishes a whole lot better this time round. You might say it's because of the price, but nah I think we just made better choices that night.
We started off with the Shrooms Bite Appetizer was delectable! The puff pastry was crispy and blended really well with the creamy mushroom filling. Mum commented the puff pastry was a little rancid tasting but I thought it was pretty good. hmm..

Mum ordered the Olive and Mushroom Pomodoro Tagliatelle for her main. I found the Tagliatelle a little too tough despite it's nicely spiced sauce.

I ordered a Yuzu Scented Spaghetti with Teriyaki Salmon. Gosh, this was so so so good and let me just say Yuzu and Teriyaki are like match made in heaven. I slurped down every strand of spaghetti despite the fact that my tongue was burning from the chilli padi.

Jie had a Shrooms & Splash Gratin which I thought was kinda bland. Ma Maison's gratin tasted way better than this one for sure! Lesson learnt: never order baked pasta/ gratin in TCC cos it's so freaking small.

Dad ordered the Roasted Chicken with Rich Sherry Jus which was juicy and tender, unfortunately no picture. The Tan Fams are big eaters and we ordered a Han and Cheese with Avocado Sandwich to share. This sandwich was not too bad, better than what I expected, albeit could be easily replicated at home.

The highlight of the meal would have to be the drinks. TCC's coffee concoctions never fail to blow our minds out! As being adventurous yielded a pleasant surprise the previous time round (check out the Marble Cheese Coffee), I decided to go ahead with the Caramel Ginger Crumble Crush and the Osmanthus Macnut. The Caramel Ginger Crumble Crush was freaggin awesome! The ginger is kinda infused into the crumbles which btw worked wonders for the coffee. In case you're afraid this drink would end up like some kopi halia you get from mamak shop, you will be please to know that the ginger was subtle yet apparent. Argh! I know I'm not making sense, just try it, seriously!

The Osmanthus Macnut is DA BOMB, I take my hat off for the creator of this coffee! This coffee was deliciously flavoured with Osmanthus, leaving a sweet sensation in your mouth and complementing the bitterness of the coffee really well.

I was stuffed but I just couldn't resist the temptation of getting a dessert. Although my previous encounter with TCC's dessert has left me kinda doubtful, I ordered a Tira-miss-u nonetheless. Thankfully, the tira-miss-u didn't disappoint! In fact, I think this tira-miss-u owns the one I had at Da Paolo. It was so creamy and rich and oh my... the rum.... yums~~
