Pancakes for Dinner- Just Cos I Can

Met Adriel for dinner last week and I suggested Strictly Pancakes (SP) as I really wanted to have a pancake fix. If I can recall, my last pancake fix would definitely have to be the all you can eat pancakes at IHOP. I don't know what possessed me to eat 14 "sheets" of pancakes but I did! and boy was I more than satisfied.

I don't know whether SP put much thought into their name but I thought it was really smart of them, using negative words to portray something good i.e Awfully Chocolate. We were there pretty early and I thought we were going to be the only weird ones having pancakes at like 6pm but I was wrong. There were quite a number of people tucking into their pancakes when we arrived.. looks like pancakes might just be the new craze :)

Strictly Pancakes @ Prinsep Street

I knew what I wanted, and those who know me would too. The Druggie is the kinda pancake that is created for people like me: chocolate pancakes drenched in chocolate sauce and topped with ice cream, chocolate shavings, powered sugar and slices of strawberry. Unfortunately, the pancakes were alittle on the dry side. The texture of these pancakes pale in comparison to the one I had at IHOP. I think the druggie was a good dish on the whole but I thought the pancakes could be improved.

Adriel ordered a Banana Scotched: butter pancakes drenched in rum and caramel sauce and topped with ice cream and caramelized Bananas. Damn, his pancakes were much nicer! it was fluffy and buttery..yums! Thank goodness Adriel couldn't finish his pancakes and I helped myself to his after I so greedily finished mine. I swear I'm gonna grow fat soon.

I would definitely visit SP again soon, this time probably going straight for "what a spread" :)
