4 years back, we labored. It was those tiresome days which fostered strong bonds among us. Today, we labored again, except this time round its totally voluntary. Well, I'm talking about my Freshman Team Building mates! Could still remember those FTB days where we were all strangers and were forced to work together to complete the most retarded task and activities like this..

Seriously...I hated this... |

I liked this though haha |
So anyway these bunch of friends are here to stay! So far we had quite a few outings, mainly potluck. Our recent outing was a "got steam" no boat outing which involves us having to cook our "steamboat" as our hot plate machine was fuming.

The plan was to climb Mt Kinabalu; however, due to time constraint we settled for MacRitchie- Bukit Timah Trail. Yup, I know, that's one hell of a difference, but I guess the whole idea is to meet up and catch up. So anyway we hiked like for freaking 2 hours and ended up at Bukit Timah. Since this is a food blog, I shall focus more on the food than the hike.
The plan was to have our dinner at Bukit Timah Food Center but unfortunately it closed down! Hence, after a bit of scouting around, we settled for a Korean Restaurant called Han Mi. Han Mi is just a few doors away from the famous supper place Al Ameen, I reckoned it is new as I have not seen it before.
We decided to order some dishes to share. The Banchan was served soon after we placed our order. In short, other than the Anchovies, the Banchan was disappointing.

We ordered some dishes to share. First up was the Dukbokki (Korean Rice Cakes), this is like a must order for me whenever I dine in a Korean restaurant. The Dukbokki was ok, but I had better ones at Togi.

Next up was the cold noodles. I really liked this! It was super refreshing and the broth had a good balance of both sweet and sour. The noodles were the usual buckwheat chewy noodles, loved it!

We ordered the black squid and beef stew which was rather satisfying. The broth was tasty but it was nothing special.

The last dish was the seafood omelette which I find to be fantastic! I love how it is crispy on the outside but soft inside. However, Adeline felt that these pancakes were as good as the ones at some Korean place at Suntec. She said they serve the best Korean Pancakes there.

On the whole, Han Mi is a pretty decent Korean place. I would definitely give Kim's Restaurant a miss and head over to Han Mi the next time I'm at Bukit Timah. :) It was great catching up with the gang, I think friends are not a must have but definitely a must keep if you have (esp good ones).
