Hey heys beautiful people! sorry have been rather lazy lately. Anyways, I had Poulet long time back but I reckon the menu didn't change much since then.
Met E, he ordered the braised duck leg in sweet wine sauce and it was really really puny. I reckoned he finished his in 2 bites. Tastewise, I think he was pretty please with it. I felt soooo bad for him I wanted to give him half of my chicken.
Braise de Canard @ $15.80 |
Poulet Roti @$15.80 |
Both E & myself were still hungry and so we went for some cakes at Podi. Ive been to Podi before when it was at Paragon. Prices were steep and cakes were so so. However, I'm surprised that Podi @ Raffles City SC offered cakes less than $6.
I took a quick glance and immediately zoomed in at their carrot cake. However, E wasn;t a great fan of carrot cakes and so we settled for the Banoffee Crumble Pie and Chocolate Rum. The former was really delicious, particularly so if you are a huge fan of cream. I loved the texture of the tart as it was more towards the crunchy side. I quite dislike cream and scrapped the top away. Nonetheless, the bottom portion was yummy enough for me to have a 2nd bite.
Banoffee Crumble Pie @ $5.80 |
Chocolate Rum & Raisin Cake @ $5.80 |
Verdict:
Poulet
Food: Decent albeit tiny portions
Service: Really warm and friendly
Value: Slightly pricey for the food and portion size
Ambience: Hot due to hanging orang light bulb. Nonetheless, pretty conducive for small group dates though.
Podi
Food: Cakes were delicious and not too sweet though I prefer Cedele's due to its towering size
Service: Decent
Value: Glad they did a price revision (cakes were charged $12 each previously). $5+ for the size was acceptable.
Ambience: Conducive but sort of disturbed by people's gaze (those taking the escalator up/ down)
