My Birthday 2013 III: Peach Garden @ Thomson Plaza

As Daddy and Bro were gonna fly off for their "backpacking" trip, the fams celebrated my birthday a few days ahead. I had cravings for Dim Sum and so we went Peach Garden at Thomson Plaza.

Peach Garden was really packed on a Saturday (duh..) but waiting for your reserved seats are kinda unacceptable. I mean.. then why ask us to reserve seats?!
imageSo there we are finally seated and was about to order when we realised Peach garden was on that dim sum trolley system which was a bummer. I hate waiting for food (period). There were a few dishes which we had to place an order for but those we liked were unavailable.. aka xiao long bao -_- So finally the trolley was here and we went on a rampage picking all the usuals.

The Har Gow was pretty decent, crunchy fresh prawns wrapped in thin chewy rice rolls, I think I ate like 4 of those.

I'm not really a fan of Siew Mai but ate it anyways. I thought the Siew Mai tasted like how all other Siew Mai tasted, nothing spectacular.

The YTF was ok, I didn't know why we picked YTF at Peach Garden..Oh wait, I know.. because the trolleys with other goodies took effing long to arrive.

Stuffed veggies aka Yong Tau Fu
Mumsy has to have chicken feet whenever she has dim sum. She said the chicken feet was good though.

The Pan Fried Carrot Cake was bad. It wasn't crispy and tasted like those which you could have gotten, at probably 1/3 of the price, in a normal coffeeshop.

The egg tarts were miniscule. I thought they were decent but not fantastic either.

I was so happy to discover that they have Liu Sha Bao. I guess the Liu Sha Bao was the saving grace, it was pretty tasty albeit skin too thick.

Our saving grace: LIU SHA BAO

I think all of us were pretty disappointed with Peach Garden; Dad thought both the quality and offerings of their dim sum have dropped in standard. Daddy paid almost $90 ++ for those above items. Nonetheless, it was great to celebrate and have a meal with the fams.
