Saizeriya- Surprisingly Improved

I'm not a person of 2nd chances; but I have no idea what made me jio dad to Saizeriya. It might have been my long yearning for Squid Ink or the need for something besides Tse Char. In any case, I'm delighted to see how Saizeriya Toa Payoh had improved since my last disappointing visit.

For one, the Squid Ink Pasta tasted just like the one I had at Liang court, only better! I asked for the Squid Ink to be less oily as the one I had at Liang Court was soaked in oil and it sure as hell delivered. The waiter was really attentive and asked if it was the way I liked it. This is my go to comfort food! At $5.90, this pasta is indubitably a steal...

Daddy had the Hamburger with Mushrooms and it was not too bad. The meat was juicy and tender, which went really well with the mushroom gravy. Although the sunny side up appeared really dry, it did have a runny yolk in the centre. I think the dish would have been better if crispy potato wedges were served instead of soggy, dried ones. I also found the portion really small, for $6.90 we could have gotten a little bit more from Aston's.

We topped up Dad's dish and had a Salad Drink Combo. The Salad was ok, pretty passable and nothing to exclaim about. I would have preferred my salad without the funny tasting dressing. In case you're wondering what drinks they serve, they serve both cold soft drinks and hot drinks. You must must try their mocha! I love it!

I felt slightly bad for Daddy and so I ordered a Garlic Foccacia and Seafood Chowder for him. The Foccacia was served hot and crispy and paired really well with the Seafood Chowder, albeit they were kinda stingy with the Seafood Chowder serving.

I know it ain't a fair comparison as I had totally different dishes the previous time round but I'm pretty confident their pizza would have tasted much nicer this time round (if I were to order it).
