Relishing my Past Dining Experience

Shuaxy and I were suppose to dine at Arbite @ Sernagoon Gardens; however it was packed and we had to wait a pretty long while. Hence, we settled for Relish @ myVillage as I was dying for Shuaxy to try the BBQ Char Siew Sandwich.

Front Counter @ Relish

Located on the 3rd floor of myVillage, Relish @ myVillage boasted a simplistic yet chic deco; somewhat like their cluny court outlet. The service at Cluny Court was great and I expected the same kinda service quality at myVillage. Unfortunately, we weren't greeted and weren't shown to our seats. Although there weren't that many diners, they took ages to take our order and took donkey years to serve us water. To make matters worse, my first glass was kinda dirty and had to return it to a unapologetic waiter.

We ordered a Tiramisu with Masala Wine Ice Blended which was the highlight of our dining experience. I loved how it wasn't too sweet; it was decadent yet not too rich, with a nice touch of booze from the masala wine... yummeh :d

Tiramisu Ice Blend @ $9

We ordered a Wild Rocket Burger and BBQ Char Siew Open Sandwich to share. The Wild Rocket Burger came in 2 sizes; we ordered the large which didn't quite seem so large. Topped up $2.60 for the fries, which ended up being really soggy and was world's apart from the ones I had at Cluny Court. The Wild Rocket Burger did boast a juicy beef patty; however I thought it was pretty average and I could have gotten a larger burger at Swensens.

I had really high hopes for the BBQ Char Siew Open Sandwich as it totally blew me away the last time round. Unfortunately, it failed both appearance wise, as well as taste wise; I swore the guy beside me had a larger Char Siew! My previous experience was much better as the sauce was thicker and the pork tendon was cooked right through. The pork I had that day had tendons that were rubbery and crunchy and wasn't to my liking.

Service sucked and the food barely made the cut, hmmm what more can I not ask for? I should have stuck to my instincts and waited for Arbite instead. I would still give Relish a 3rd chance to impress but just not the one at myVillage, that's for sure.
