This wasn't my first time at La Salsa but I wasn't as please as I was the first time round; I reckoned its the choice of food. Daddy had the Chicken Enchiladas which looked really unappealing, fortunately it tasted better than it looked. Enchiladas are basically corn tortilla wrapped around a filling and smothered with chilli pepper sauce. La Salsa's came with sides like rice, veggies and refried beans. I thought the beans were good albeit a tad too salty. The rice tasted normal, nothing too special and the Enchiladas were ok but I thought the cheese could have been warmer as it was pretty much cold and hardened when it arrived on our table.

I was tempted to order the burrito as I had an awesome one the previous time I was at La Salsa. However, Dad convinced me to order a pizza instead. I know right!??! pizza in a Mexican restaurant? I regretted my decision the minute the waiter walked away with our order. Honestly, the pizza wasn't that bad but it was way too oily. The crust resembled a tough cookie whereby every bite I took produced a loud crunch. The toppings were definitely Mexican alright: minced beef, refried beans, salsa, guacamole and tons of Jalapeños, so much so I tasted Jalapeños and.... Jalapeños? Due to the overpowering Salsa, the pizza kinda left a lingering coriander after taste in my mouth right down to the throat.
I thought the pizza might resemble the one I had in Mesa Pizza at Minneapolis. It might be due to the fact that Mexico is nearer to USA?

All was not lost, at least our dinner ended on a sweet note. We ordered the Pineapple Cheesecake which was interesting. Although I would have prefer a NY cheesecake anytime, this Pineapple Cheesecake was something different. Despite being absolutely pleased with its portion, I didn't quite like the crust of the cheesecake as it was soggy and sweet; it may have sat in the pineapple syrup for too long.

I wouldn't rule out La Salsa as that's where I get my burrito fix. However, I doubt I would be craving Mexican anytime soon.
