As if 2 consecutive days of Thai cuisine wasn't enough, poor Daddy had to endure another day of Thai as I was craving Pad Thai (and wanted to prove to him how awesome Jai Thai Pad Thai is). It was my treat so Dad didn't exactly complain =D
While googling about Jai Thai @ Purvis, I discovered that there's actually a Jai Thai nearer to my place! Located amidst all the houses at Jalan Pemimpin, lies a hidden Thai treasure along Clover Way. According to Daddy, we had Jai Thai before, when it was located at Thomson Plaza Food court. Oooo,
so desu ne!!
We were there around 2 pm and the place was still crowded with the usual lunch crowd and Raffles Students. There was nobody to show us to our seats and so we just occupied the nearest empty table. There were 2 waitresses, one old and one young. The old one was kinda grouchy and sulked right through while the young one was all smiles when she took down our order. Despite having aircons, Jai Thai was kinda stuffy and warm.
Jai Thai had some awesome set meals which I missed out previously and I was determined to get a set meal this time round. Theres a Tom Yum Set, Green Curry Set, Phad Thai Set and Beef Noodles Set, Pineapple rice Set and Olive Rice Set; all of which comes with drinks and the dessert of the day.

I tried the pandan chicken and thought it was much better than the one I had at Purvis albeit still not mind blowing-ly fantastic. The fried fish was crispy and not too oily, paired really well with the sweet chilli sauce at the centre. I didn't try the spring roll as it looked way too oily. All in all, this dish is definitely worth it for $7.80 but I don't think I would wanna clog my arteries with that much fried stuff.
We also ordered the Red Ruby Drink, while waiting anxiously for our food to be served. This is my virgin experience and I feel pretty noob saying this but... I didn't know Red Rubies were crunchy!? Cool stuff man... although I do prefer pearls more. The drinks were way too sweet at first but it tasted super good after the ice has melted and the drink all mixed into a pinkish delight.

As the dessert of the day was some meagre Young Coconut Jelly, we ordered a glass of Chendol to share. I was expecting the same old Chendol you would get from Kopitiam but what I got was way better. I'm officially in love with Thai Chendol! The green jelly were chewy and delicious. Likewise, the Chendol tasted a whole lot better after the ice has melted. Move away Kopitiam Chendol, there's a new kid in town (ok maybe just "new" in my food-tionary)
