Pops came down for my graduation and the Grd Daughters (Jie & myself) decided to give her a treat :) We went to the Lookout at SICC with Mally and ordered a ton of food.
Left Clockwise: Mee Goreng, Crispy Yee Mee, Carrot Cake, Club Sandwich, Chicken Tikka Pizza. |
I had the most wonderful pizza at Bukit Cafe the last time round and I was dying to be blown away by Lookout's Pizza (that's assuming all the pizzas served across SICC is of equal standard). My Chicken Tikka Pizza was good but not as amazing as the one I had at Bukit Cafe. The crust became a tough as it cooled and I thought the Chicken Tikka tasted a little like Char Siew =X. We ordered a carrot cake to share and boy was it good! I never condone eating hawker food at restaurants as I always thought hawker food taste best at hawker setting. Plus, I think it's pretty foolish to order something which you can get cheaply, at some fancy restaurant, at an exorbitant price. BUT... but... this carrot cake went against what I believed as it was ever so flavourful and aw so yummy. Seriously, you gotta try it for yourself!
Jie ordered her favourite club sandwich which I felt was pretty normal; just the same old layers of ham, lettuce, tomatoes, more ham and chicken cutlet. Besides the above mentioned, we also ordered Yam Cake to share and Mally had his squid ink risotto. The Yam cake was pretty good too! The smooth and chewy yam cake paired really well with the sweet sauce.
Left Clockwise: Bitter Chocolate Tart, Ice Kachang and Bobo Cha cha |
All in all, dinner was awesome! For the copious amount of food, both Jie and myself spent about $100 and that's including Dad and Mum's free flow salad ($12.90 for a salad buffet!) Lookout is definitely a nice place to hang as the food is good, pricing is reasonable and there's minimal crowd! Only drawback: you need a member to be a SICC member to be able to dine there :( Alternatively, you can get yourself acquainted with an SICC member =D
It was great to have Pops down in Singapore. It has always been them giving and us receiving and I'm happy that I'm finally able to give back, pity Gongs gone... In any case, appreciate your grd parents! for you'll never know how long they'll be by your side till.
