Ji Xiang Ang Ku Kueh

Yeah finally! Some kind soul gave me a box of Ji Xiang Ang Ku Kueh! I've always wanted to try (I know I say this many times but I do mean it every single time) but Everton Park just seem too out of the way.

My box of 10 consisted of 5 different flavours: Peanut, Sweet Bean, Coconut, Yam and Corn. I loved every flavour except the coconut, I thought the AKK with brown desiccated coconut (formally from Lorong 1 Toa Payoh hawker centre near the market) tasted better. They used to sell the mango flavoured sweet bean too which OWNS all flavours. Nonetheless, Ji xiang's was really good. Thin chewy skin enveloping smooth, not too sweet fillings, I think those are the characteristics of a good AKK, no?

I thought these tasted just like the ones that Rochor Beancurd House @ Upper Thomson Road sells. Any idea whether they are the same?

  1. Yup... they are the supplier for Rochor Beancurd House @ Upper Thomson Road... check out the print on the AKK... it does not say the usual "shou"... it says "ji Xiang" have you noticed that before? :)
