Mum went Chinatown and bought some pastry back from Da Sheng's. The Tau Sar Pastry was pretty good! The pastry had just the right ratio of crumbliness : crispiness and the best part, the Tau Sar filling wasn't tooth-achingly sweet (on hindsight, it might have been due to my flu and numbness in taste). Nonetheless, I find this pastry really yummy, especially with the salted egg yolk!

Mum also bought some walnut pastry which I felt was a total waste of money. There were no sign of any walnuts and the filling was way too sweet. I found the pastry too crumbly too. When I grumbled about how bad this tasted, mum immediately retorted, " Really? Aiya should have gotten more of the cheaper ones then.."

So there you have it, save some money and get the Tau Sar Pastry instead! I heard the Wife's biscuits and Egg Tarts are good too, albeit Aunt said Liang Chen's Egg Tarts own Da Sheng's.
