Picnic @ the Gardens

My FTB group mates are the most enthusiastic bunch ever. Adeline, our catalyst, never fails to initiate outings and this time round, she suggested picnicking at the newly opened Gardens by the Bay.
It was nice sunny Sunday and we met at Bayfront MRT before proceeding to the Gardens.

Our first comment was, what? they spent billions of dollars on this?!? To be honest, this isn't really a garden but I guess this is what a cosmopolitan, metropolitan, urban etc. city's biggest garden would look like, so city-like are we that we picnicked under the supertree, on the concrete chair.

On hindsight, this was a really bad idea as the supertree provided no shade what so ever and the concrete base was hot like charcoal; thank goodness we had a picnic mat, courtesy of VnC Cocktails :) A little advertising here VnC Cocktails Beach mats are available in selected Cold Storage when you purhcase VnC Cocktails so bask in the sun, enjoy natures' gifts and grab your very own pretty beach mats today!

Adeline is such a dear; she got up really early just to cook Japchae for us. It tasted really good! Sweet and yummy :) She also made some pork with straw mushrooms and separated it from the noodles just for me  =D Angeline brought curry puffs, egg tarts and korean chocolates. SiHua brought some nuggets and fishballs while yangfan brought some sushi. Benny was the chapalang guy and brought a variety of things, from drinks to cherry tomatoes to bread. The sushi bread, which he got from Pine Garden was surprisingly good. Filled with a generous layer of pork floss and tuna, the combination of both savoury and sweet was perfect.

So what did I bring? Honestly, I felt super embarrassed as I only brought a few bottles of cocktails, plates and a mat. My initial plan was to share the drinks and tomatoes with Benny but he refused to accept my money!!

In any case, we had an enjoyable time, it was fun catching up!! Those who havent been to Gardens by the Bay should definitely pop by and soak up the greenery, albeit a little artificial.
