Homely Affair

Let me tell you why my mum's the best. It's not only due to the fact that she cooks for us after a tiresome day at work, but the extent to which she goes all out just to ensure we have a perfect dinner. I think the most outrageous dinner she ever cooked was the meal with 4 different types of poultry: Pork. Beef, Chicken & Fish, together with 3 different types of vegetable.

Last night's dinner was yet again sumptuous, to say the least. As you can see, mum evolved: from a traditional, all from scratch mum to a modern, fast and furious mum. I love mum in the latter form more as I love salads and sashimi! :):):) Mum basically whipped up a simple Aglio Olio and pan fried some steak to go along with the mixed salad and sashimi she bought- fast, simple and delicious!

As for me, I doubt I will ever be the traditional kinda mum in the future. I whipped up a nice bowl of green curry vermicelli for lunch the other day. Both the vermicelli and green curry are from Thailand. I love Thailand's vermicelli as it has that chewy crunchy texture which resembles more of the local tang hoon. Everything's perfect except I added too much green curry paste and this dish was freaking spicy, do not underestimate the power of curry paste my friends. I packed half the noodles into the fridge as my tummy was filled with all the milk I gulped to ease the spiciness.
