I'm no professional food blogger, just a girl with an appetite for anything sweet. It gets kinda tiring to blog, especially after a long day's work and all you wanna do it nua with some movies and chips. Nonetheless, I find extreme joy in blogging about foods I think are worth mentioning, be it good or bad. Having said that, these are the goodies I had way back, some way way way back. I thought I should start blogging about these before I start stuffing my face with more-to-come goodies during CNY.
I had these cheese tarts from Seremban and they were pretty good. These are from Siew Pau Asia aka Siew Pow Master @ 368 Jalan Seng Meng Lee, which serves awesome Chan Bao. If you think their Siew Paus are good, wait till you try their Chan Bao which are basically fluffy soft buns stuffed with Siew Pau filling. We usually buy them in 30s or 40s, that's how freaggin good they are.

Sorry, side tracked, now back to those cheese tarts... these tarts are baked and tasted much better than those non-baked ones! I thought they were a tad too sweet, nonetheless they had good amount of blueberry filling, smooth baked cheese and a nice crumbly crust- better than Naomi's for sure.

My colleague made this awesome Tiramisu for me last year I told you these goodies are dated way way back. I liked her boozy version of it; she's an alcoholic and definitely lives up to one!

Viennese Cookies |
These were consumed soooo long ago but I have to mention about these as they are darn good! They were from an event held at Idle @ Dempsey; I'm not sure whether they were made in house and whether you could get them from Idle though. These are by far the best cupcakes I ever had! They aren't like your regular fluffy cake-like cupcakes; these are dense yet moist and rich, almost like a brownie. What's also delicious are their frosting which had a ganche texture and is smooth and creamy without being too sweet nor jelak.
Best Cupcakes I ever had |
They came in 3 flavours: Strawberry & cheese, Caramel and Dark Chocolate. The dark chocolate is definitely my favourite, I loved how it wasn't too sweet and had a rich chocolate taste. The Strawberry Cheese ones were good too, yummy strawberry cheese frosting on subtly flavoured vanilla cake.

Carrot cake from Soup Spoon is my number one choice when it comes to a broke me. Soup spoon's carrot cake meets all the requirements: moist, packed with walnuts, creamy cheese frosting and affordable. This is a smaller and less fluffy version of Cedele's but it'll do for me :)

The garlic bread at Soup spoon is also pretty good, it's toasted to perfection and had an awesome garlic taste.
Chocolate and Coffee Cheese cake made by Khim, my darling baking buddy. I swear these are really good! Super rich and decadent and not for the faint-hearted.
Best Bak Ku Teh ever at Taman Pelangi. Mum would ta bao and we'll have it for dinner. It's really herb-y and full of flavour.
Dad came back with 2 packet of durians one day and it was almost gone the next. These are from Combat Durian; I prefer those which Mum gets from Malaysia but these will do when sudden cravings strike.

These are the best drinks to have, in your office, during sudden hunger pangs. I guess the best I had, to date, would have to be the one at West Coast Market: cheap and yummy :)
Black White Drink |
Famous Tan Kim Hock Doldol from Malacca. Sweet, chewy and tasty treat :) The Durian version is definitely better.
Durian Dol Dol |
Bought these pineapple tarts from a stall along Jonker Street. I thought they were pretty awesome as the tarts were firmer and less melt-your-mouth. Yeah, not your typical ideal tarts but they're great, for me.
My ideal pineapple tart |
Mochi Bun from Breadtalk which tasted kinda weird. I love both mochi and bread but the combination of both plus black glutinous rice filling just tasted weird.

Tried these Pandan mooncakes from Tung Lok. They were pretty good as they were not too sweet and had a good amount of pandan flavour. What I love about these are the egg yolks which are not your regular round shaped ones, where only certain sectors of mooncake gets them. These mooncakes spot an evenly distributed layer of salted egg yolk, now that's what I call equality.

These mooncakes, from Golden Dragonboat Restaurant, were given by Jie's bf's mummy. Although they didn't have that even distribution of egg yolk, these were my favourite mooncakes of 2012 not that I've eaten many due to my vanity. I love Golden Dragonboat's version as the lotus paste was smooth and not too sweet. In fact, they were way way not too sweet which makes them subtly sweetened.
