Relishing Every Bite @ Relish Cluny Court

Relish @ Cluny Court

Had dinner with Val the other day at Relish and omg, I couldn't stop thinking of my Open Face BBQ Pork Sandwich ever since. I think that's the most delicious pork sandwich I ever had! It was so amazingly tender and packed with tons of flavour; I swear I've never loved pork this much before. Although the pork was a tad too salty, it went really well with the tomatoes and the crispy bread it sat on.

The fries which came with the burger was well fried: crispy without being too oily. Although they didn't offer any BBQ sauce to go with the fries, I was given Curry Mayo upon my request. Frankly, I didn't have high hopes for the Curry Mayo as the only Curry dip I ever tasted was sweet and came in a packet labelled MacDonalds. However, Relish's Curry Mayo was pretty good. Despite tasting like Curry + Mayo, it was flavourful; point being it really tasted like curry :)

Val had the Bacon and Cheese Burger which tasted pretty good too. Nice succulent beef patty all dolled up with melty cheese and streaky bacon.

We had Fried Chicken for starters, which came with 2 sauces: the chicken rice chilli sauce and Gorgonzola Cheese Sauce. The chickens were uber crunchy and crispy but a tad too oily for my liking. As I'm no a fan of chilli sauce, I dunked my chickens into the Gorgonzola Cheese sauce instead. I thought it tasted really weird, didn't really like the aged blue cheese taste.

Although we were stuffed max, we got ourselves a peanut butter chocolate cake (recommended by the waiter). Their homemade cakes are only available on weekends and we thought it would be a waste not to end with a sweet note. I quite liked the peanut chocolate cake as it was smothered with real thick peanut butter instead of peanut butter frostings/ cream. Although the chocolate cake could afford to be a little more moist, the cake went really well with the vanilla ice cream. The waiter was a darling, he went the extra mile and heated up the cake for us, this made it a whole lot better!

All in all, I really loved how Relish added the extra creative touch to the typical Singapore dishes. I truly admire Mod-Sing restaurants and can't wait to try their other amazing Mod Sing dishes. Service was average during peak period and became exceptional when the crowd dissipated. Although the burgers are slightly pricey, I wouldn't mind heading back just for the nice cosy ambience and their creative yet home-ly food.
