Wild Honey > Chocolate Origins

Met Adriel for dinner last week as he was dying to have Wild Honey. We decided to head to Scott Square's outlet as they take reservations. We were there around 7.30pm and I was pretty shock to see a fairly empty Wild Honey; there have been many bloggers blogging about their long waiting time and slow service.

Having looked through many blog reviews, I knew what I wanted even before stepping into the restaurant. I immediately ordered the Tunisian while Adriel was choosing between the European and the English. He finally went for the English after I told him what a prosciutto was; apparently he doesn't like ham lol.

Adriel's English arrived first and I was super jealous as it looked sooooo good! I don't think my picture does this dish any justice as the thick slices of brioche were covering the good old mushrooms, bacon, potatoes and baked beans. In other words, this is a dish which would satisfy a really famished me.

The English @ $24
I stole some from Adriel's plate and immediately fell in love with the scrambled eggs. The scrambled eggs were super smooth and creamy but I think its uber fattening (bet they used tons of cream). The potatoes tasted ok and the sausage was a little fatty. Now on to the best part- the brioche; it was super fluffy and yet crispy.. yummms!!! Don't take my word for it though as this is the first time eating a Brioche and I have no other comparison. I didn't manage to taste the mushrooms but Adriel loved it.

Next up my Tunisian which is basically a sizzling pan of tomato goodness, chorizo sausages and 2 fried eggs. My dish was served with 2 slices of Brioche and a small bowl of tomato and cucumber salad. I was really excited to tuck into my dish as it looked sooo goooood! I tore a piece of Brioche, dunked it into the sizzling hot tomato stew and shaft it into my mouth. OMG the flavours are amazing! I don't really know how to describe it but it tasted really darn good! Loved the chorizo sausages and thick chunky cooked tomatoes! My one and only complain about this dish are the overcooked egg yolks; I kind like my eggs a little runny.

Slightly Overcooked Egg Yolks
After dinner we went strolling around and greedy me dragged him over to 313 to get the long awaited Chocolate Lava Cake from Chocolate Origins. I have always wanted to try these but I just couldn't find the right time to.

313 Somerset Chocolate Origin
Most shopping centres' basements are always reserved for food and 313 Somerset is no exception. Kudos to 313 Somerset for erecting a few seats around the food kiosks, allowing diners to enjoy their food.

I was really excited when I got my cake as it looked so darn good. But like they said looks can be deceiving,  and this happened to be one of those cases. The molten chocolate was ultra oily and the ice cream at the bottom was rock hard; to sum up, this cake was a complete and utter disappointment.

Chocolate Lava Cake @ $5
Check out the gross grease! I know cream is all fatty and greasy etc. but I don't care if I don't see it. This dessert is just utterly gross as the oil separates from the chocolate and coagulates due to the coldness of the ice cream...ewww!

Blobs of Oil
A layer of oil floating on top of the chocolate
Blobs of oil coagulating at the sides.
I was so grossed out I barely finished it. This was such a waste of me 5 bucks!!! Guess I should have gotten a cake at Wild Honey instead :(
