Wimbly Lu Revisited

Revisited Wimbly Lu the other day to pass/ collect something from Lyns (she's working as a waitress there). This time round I relied on google map to lead me into Jalan Riang and I must say it's a pretty far walk. Braving the scorching sun I managed to arrive at Wimbly Lu in one solid piece. I was glad to see Lyns as it's been awhile since I last saw her. She was helping out in the kitchen and actually pop out to serve me :)

S'mores Pie

I heeded her advice and got myself a S'mores Pie. I dislike marshmallow but I think the S'mores Pie kinda seduced its way into my mouth. I thought the chocolate ganache was nicely done, firm and chewy just like the ones at Laurent Bernard however, the tart crust wasn't as firm as LB and crumbled easily. This S'mores Pie will definitely be a hit among all you S'mores Fans out there but I didn't quite care for the top layer of S'mores.

After indulging into the S'mores Pie, I kinda regretted my decision. I should have gotten a root beer cake as it looked super gorgeous plus it can't be da-bao-ed. Damn, wrong strategy! Hence, I bought a black out cake home for my Dad as I could tell he's yearning for me to bring something back from Wimbly.

Wimbly Lu Revisit

It might be due the wonders of virgin experiences: things always taste good the 1st time round, but the blackout cake doesn't taste so good this time round. Infact, I think it taste like the cake I made for dad's 58th bdae, though more work has to be made to the chocolate ganache frosting. I may return just for the root beer cakes but that's if and only if I have a car :)
