Caught up with Cassy & Lil Wan last week; it was great meeting them as it sort of brought back a part of the IJ days. IJ days were the best days of my life!! We headed over 15 minutes (my suggestion, which I later regretted) for dinner as quite a number of food blogs gave their thumbs up to this quiet lil eatery.
Located at Lasalle College of the Arts, 15 minutes is a casual dining area for the students as well as the public in the vicinity. I thought it's exterior was pretty artsy fartsy; brilliant way of advertising themselves, as well as, a great use of natural light.
We were there on a Wednesday night, which explains to sparse crowd. I read loads about their Asian Duck Pizza and was dying to try it; however Cassy wanted to get the duck and so I decided to get the 4 cheese instead.
Lil wan's avocado Linguine arrived 1st, the portion was good and they were pretty generous with the chicken. I thought this pizza tasted pretty good for both avocado and non avocado fans. Do not get me wrong I love avocado but the Avocado Pasta I made tasted nothing like this and I actually prefer this more, though I reckon it might be because they use cream and other fatty stuff.

Cassy's Duck Pizza arrived next, the duck pizza looked good: generous chunky pieces of duck amid the mandarin oranges and roasted cashews.... nice! It looks too good not to try so I koped a piece from Cassy. The pizza crust was alil hard, nope not crispy hard, it's tough kinda hard. I found the flavours ok but both Cassy and Lil wan said Timbre's is much better. I think my biggest qualms with this pizza is the amount of oil it is drenched in. I know it's a pizza and it has cheese and all but I don't think the cheese actually perspire to that extent: the oil it produced is just gross.

My 4 Cheese Pizza was the last to arrive but they definitely did not save the best for last. My friends, if you think ADP is oily, wait till you see the 4 cheese! I have to say I was shock to see that amount of oil on the 4 cheese pizza. Maybe it's suppose to be like this (as I haven't eaten/ seen a 4 cheese cake) but this will be the very last time I'm ordering a 4 cheese pizza. I couldn't help but dab away the oil with the serviettes, I think both Lil wan and Cassy were shocked at my actions lol.

Since I am in the alcohol beverage industry, I thought maybe I should head out for some cocktail. The girls were very accommodating and we settled for Hog's Breath Cafe at Chijmes.

Hog's Breath, love the pig icon! |
We were in luck! they were having some wicked Wednesday promotion which basically offers a 50% discount on their cocktails and martinis. I got myself a mudslide (Baileys + Chocolate fudge etc.), Lil wan ordered a Mai Tai (Pineapple juice + Vodka+ Amaretto etc.) and Cassy had an Erdinger. We also ordered a bowl of curly fries to share. I know right!? 1st oily pizza then cocktails and now fries!? lol I cut myself some slack for that night.

Curly Fries |
The fries tasted just like McD's curly fries, nothing very special. As for the cocktail, my mudslide was really sweet but potent; I prefer this to TCC's Frosty Baileys. Lil Wan's Mai Tai was also really sweet but tasted far different from the Mai Tai I imagined it to be. Personally, I didn't quite like it as the Amaretto was really strong and had a nasty fake almond taste. Cassy's Erdinger tasted like Hoegaarden, but before all you Erdinger fans start swearing at me, I gotta say I ain't some beer connoisseur.

Left Clockwise: Mud slide Cocktail, Mai Tai Cocktail, Erdinger Beer, IJ peeps! |
I was really disappointed with 15 minutes but thankfully my companion saved the night, which got me thinking..One's taste is so subjective, how can other's speak for one another?
